Posté par: xaviertoul.xa le Mardi 04 Mars 2008, 20:41:49 PM
Salut je souhaiterai savoir si quelqu'un pouvais me dire comment rajouter des roms sur un pcb 2800 in 1 ( ou 1000 in 1 ) et meme savoir si on peut y rajouter quarement un emulateur ( cps3 avec SFIII et Jojo....)
merci

(http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/4985/img2332sj4.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)

(http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/2329/img2333oy5.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)

Moi ca me parait possible!

F5  =:))

if %1==kov goto emu11
if %1==mslug goto emu7

Et plus loin on trouve:
:emu7
cd/emu/game7
play.exe
goto end

if %1==sfiii3 goto emu12
:emu12
cd/emu/game12
CPS3.EXE
goto end

copy/Y d:/filebak/xxxxxxx c:/emu/xxxxxxxxx

c:\emu\Batch\cnfsave.bat
ligne 11 : xcopy/s/y/v c:\emu\game22\cfg\*.* d:\filebak\cfgbak\game22\cfg
ligne 11 : xcopy/s/y/v c:\emu\game22\nvram\*.* d:\filebak\cfgbak\game22\nvram

c:\emu\Batch\game.bat
ligne 262 : if %1==sfiii3   goto   emu22
-------------------------------------
ligne 1308 : :emu22
ligne 1309 : cd\emu\game22
ligne 1310 : play1.exe %1
ligne 1311 : goto end

ligne 260 : if %1==sfiii3   goto   emu22
-------------------------------------
ligne 1158 : :emu22
ligne 1159 : cd\emu\game22
ligne 1160 : play1.exe %1
ligne 1161 : goto end

c:\emu\Batch\game.ini
ligne 455 : sfiii3=1

d:\filebak\cfgbak\game22\cfg\sfiii3.cfg

-> ligne 455 : sfiii3=1

d:\filebak\english\lstbak\files\game-0.lst
ligne 5968 : sfiii3
ligne 5969 : Street Fighter 3 third strike

d:\filebak\english\lstbak\files\game-3.lst
ligne 352 : sfiii3
ligne 353 : Street Fighter 3 third strike

d:\filebak\english\lstbak\files\game-9.lst
ligne 3095 : sfiii3
ligne 3096 : Street Fighter 3 third strike

d:\filebak\english\lstbak\files\game.fav
ligne 2625 : ssfiii3
ligne 2626 : Street Fighter 3 third strike
ligne 2627 : 1
ligne 2628 : 0

d:\filebak\english\lstbak\ini\game-3.ini
-> j'ai changé "Wrestle" par "fighting" car c'etait vraiment trop ridicule ^^
ligne 3 : list_title                                Fighting Games

Toutes suggestions.

here it is again in english just incase it doesnt make sence.

Hi hope you can understand me as im a non French speaking person using a translation package.

Didn't want to offend by writing in English.

Have been playing with my 1069 in 1 for a few weeks now i have started to put together a little help file.

Front end is based on mamewah/mamewin  i think from my experiments.

Skin development can be achieved by editing the D:\filebak\english\main.bmp.

Layout development by renaming D:\filebak\english\myskin.ski to myskin.lay can use mamewah layout designer to edit font colour position and size and selection colour just make your changes and rename to .ski system will then adapt to new layout.

Been reading what was suggested to add roms to the system didn't update to latest mame as the roms i wanted to add are supported by 106.0 mame in game2 folder.

Have followed the instructions game is showing up in game list but as rom title not as list name. And will not launch.

Any suggestions.

Thanks for the help dude and there is no offense to speak english here. According to me it's even better than the would be translation from the webtool  :D

It would be of great help i guess for a lot of dudes around to compile in a single
file all the informations we manage to grab dealing with those xxx in 1 cards. We even may try to do a bilingual file french/english. I can help with the french/english
translation if required.

The infos you have provided for the layout are of great interest for all 1066in1 owner. Any chance to have such information for the 465in1 babystar card ?

Best,

Franck

right cracked it been a busy man today. have cloned the 10gb hard drive to a 60gb hard by taking the hard drive off the motherboard installing it in my xp machine.

Then using selfimage software made a image of the 10gb drive to my 250gb backup drive i then removed the original hard drive and installed a spare 60gb maxstor cloned the drive from the image. I then using partition magic have resized C: to a 40gb partition so i can add lots more roms and even diffrent emulators to the system still got 17gb spare if i run out of space.

Have customized my menu back ground buy editing

D:\filebak\english\main.bmp (menu background file)

Then have customised layout so the on screen colours are not so bright on the eyes
by renaming the myskin.ski file to myskin.lay then using mamewah layout designer to change the colours of the menu from green to white the selected game colour to green , the games list counter to brite green and the list title to white saved the file then changed it back to .ski

the c:\emu folder brakes down like this.

There are a number of emulators being used to provide the games:
emu\game1 Mame 0.96
emu\game2 Mame 0.106
emu\game7 Final Burn Alpha 0.2.94.98
emu\game9 ZiNc 1.1
emu\game11 Nebula 2.25
emu\mult1 Mame 0.96u3
emu\mult2 Mame 0.106
emu\mult7 Final Burn Alpha 0.2.94.98
emu\mult11 Nebula 2.25

to add older roms to the system get your self a nice script editor as you need to do some additions to some files to get the system working.

what i have been doing is runing mame32 on my other pc finding the roms i want to add playing the rom once which genorates the .cfg file and the .nv nvram file then copying them over to c:\emu\game2 there folders cfg and nvram and to  D: \filebak\cfgbak\game2\ same files the system reads off this partition. After that i have copied over the rom to c:\game_roms\roms\ the snap file in C:\emu\snap seems to have most of the sreen shots already installed.

now for the editing.

files of intrest

D:\filebak\cfgbak\batch\game.ini (game delay launch file)
Scroll to the bottom of the file add new line with romname=delay as shown on next line
rom-name=1

C:\emu\batch\game.bat (pointer file tells the system which emulator to use to launch game)

scroll down till you get to the end of the games list will see something like this
if%1==rampage goto emu2 make a new line copy and past the last line change rampage to rom name then save

do the same to multi.bat in the same folder not sure if this is needed but did it all the same.

Then its back to drive d:

D:\filebak\english\lstbak\files\game.fav scroll to the end of file and add the following.
romname
rom menu title
1
0
i not sure what it does exsactly but thought i would add it as was used earlyer in the post.

last file to edit the one which is important if you dont space this right it wont work properly as i found out earlyer.

D:\filebak\english\lstbak\files \game-0.lst

the way i did it was to copy the first discription and the 11 spaces after then paste it at the end of the file then edit it first line is rom name second line is menu rom title eg.

gng
Ghosts 'n Goblins

make sure the is 11 returns after it other wise will spit up errors and might not desplay right wont see the snap image.

other things i have noticed is that if your playing on a arcade machine running a 15hz monitor they dont seem to like vector games added starwars was not as crisp as a pc monitor. there are some issues with midway games they dont like running on the system nba jam is too lagged and so is mortal combat II not sure why but dont like to run on the system.

Will be adding the latest version of mame to the list later on today as of the instructions from Sakpoubel.

Going to upgrade the ram as i have found out its DDR PC3200 (400Mhz) 184-pin DIMM Ram might up it to 1gb of ram just for the hell of it.

also going to try to get daphne the lazer disc emulator to run off the system as i fancy having space ace and dragons lair 1,2 and some other lazer disc classics.

after looking at mamewah config ini file might be able to also add a boot up movie as well but not to sure if the system will take it but from my understanding of the system it seams as if mamewah was mamewin or one is based off the other.

after reading Sakpoubel instructions have had had some ideas on how to get it to all work. will add more information as we descover it.

starting to put this information in to a webpage or pdf with pictures on how to do diffrent things with the system ie hard drive removal plugging in a pc monitor so you can run ghost to back up the system and how to make images of hard drive and make bigger partitions to add lots more to the system. some one was telling me that they have added a wifi card to one and have a juke box systme streaming off another server will look in to this too.

if any one has any more information on system hacks please post them so i can add them to my file as by the sounds of things we all have had the same idea but not been able to find out information. then can publish a file for all to view.

465 in 1 i dont own one so cannot comment on the file system but i can say might be time to sell it and get your self a 1069 in 1 much more adaptable and customizable

WOW ! that was quick   ^-^

Still few questions remais to me.
What is the original HD size ? 20GB ? 10GB EDIT : ok 10GB
Is it possible to use the PCB's backup recovery program (it requires VGA) instead of making a ghost running windows ? (I bet yes) If yes, should I need a same size HD ?
I guess it would be possible to edit the mame.ini to display vertical games as unstretched and orizontal orientation (well, as native), could someone confirm this ?

About the 465 in 1, no need to sell it, just grab a 10xx in 1 HD backup (jammaboards sell them for about 37USD) however I still need to grab one,

Anyway  :-*

The only problem i had with the ghost software was when i tryed mounting the hard drive after it had cloned using the ghost system the partitions were non readable and unformated in a windows format but then again i was trying to clone to a bigger hard drive.

The system is fitted with a 10gb quantum Fireball hard drive as standard but from my expseriments should be able to put a 500gb in there with some mods via partition magic.

to get a pc monitor to work with the system just unscrew the 2 small cross head screws take the circet board out of the vga slot and plug a monitor in make sure sw2 number 4 switch is on you will see the bios screen come up and a message about hitting f10 hit player 2 start when you see this and it will launch ghost.

i used self image as it works quicker and now that i have a image can back up any time i want when i have fineshed modding the drive will reimage it so can make copys so have a back up at all times im going to have a seprat hard drive mounting point so i can take the drives in and out quick for development reasons.

Link for selfimage software its freeware.
Self Image softwarehttp://www.excelcia.org/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=4 (http://www.excelcia.org/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=4)

would recomend jammaboards.com to any one who is going to buy a system as tim the owner is a realy nice person who will help answer questions and is a realy good tech head.

i had a problem with the 3&4 player config card one of the ic had come off in transit he replaced it free of charge with no fuss.

im going to see if i can get the updated version mame on today and try installing daphne to the system wish me luck.

If the hard drive is under linux why dont you try to read it using a linux liveCD (like knopix or DSL (damn small linux)
you boot on you DSL disc with you hdd plugged on your PC motherboard.

the 465 in 1 runs Linux, I own one.

However, trying to modd it with a live Cd wouldn't be really usefull as it's quite easier to mod the HD from the 10xx in 1, plus the 465 in 1 uses a dongle and the CF is only 1 GB... so it's really not of any interest

Whaou it's getting more and more thrilling  ^-^

I agree it's certainly better to focus on the 1069in1 stuff. Anyway i have a
465in1 handy and i think it's of interest to make further investigations with this
one for at least two reasons: (i) would be of interest to have a look on the setup for vertical system board; (ii) to understand how the soft dog is working.

From this standpoint it may be possible to replace the cf and setup a hdd based version of the vertical configuration. I will try to use the tool you mentioned in order to read the CF.

Maniak, can you please give further details regarding the video stuff you were talking about ? Some pictures maybe of great help too  ^-

Looking forward to learn more  :-*

the video stuff?? you mean about plug it in to a monitor or the laser disc software im trying to write in to the system? oh you mean the boot video havent had a chance to look in to it yet was just looking at the mamewah system and thinking its probably based on the same software might just copy the video config section and post it in to the menu config just for a look see probably will. will look in to it hopfuly before the week end. working on my arcade cabinet atm getting it all restored before i move it to my house.

you wouldent have thought that i only got in to arcade machines 2 months ago never played with arcade machines till i brought this one have already stripped it rewired it sold all the guts the original neo geo  4 slot board and 16 carts for what i payed for it in the first place £200 pounds so got a free machine then brought the 1066 in 1 with the money i made from the guts and splashed out on set of new led buttons 2 joysticks and some vinal. mind you have been playing with mame since the begining always loved my classic games just never thought about doing this till i was board one day searching ebay

have put a quick help file with pictures in not fineshed but it's a start will be adding more pictures and screen grabs of adding stuff to the system.

will upload it to my server tommorow its a pdf file and post it on here but as i said its just a first draft if you dont under stand please ask an i will make changes will do more screen grabs as well tommorow and add them shortly so it all makes sence.

have tryed updating mame today under sakpoubel's instructions it sort of works the version of mame i install launches the rom Aladin(bootleg japan) but there is somthing screwie with the screen when it launches the screen splits in two and i get half pic on one side and half on the other so sakpoubel could you tell me what version mame your using so i can add it to get it fully functioning have used your code in my help file did give  you thanks for it.think i will try adding a diffrent rom to it just incase its trying to set the screen to secam other wise will keep changing versions of the software did get in to the dip switches and see if i could change video settings but to no joy and mame ini is set up to the right resolutions hmm.

been striping my control pannel today stripping down ready for paint and vinal tomorow then got to reinstal 18 buttons 2 joysticks there is a trackerball support too apparently might give it a try and see what happens think i saw a happ track ball on ebay fancy adding combat school track ball addition to the rom set but will have to see how big it is might not fit on my control pannel. a glowing one would be good to will go with my led buttons.

does any one know how to get mame to srink image on vertical games. will have a look at the dip switches tommrow and see if i can change it that way

just waiting on my m8 giving me his lazer disc set to borrow so i can give installing daphne a go think it will work using comand line entry to the system after looking at sakpoubel post i think you could set up a diffrent set for each rom as a comand line that wont be happening till ive got all the data going to keep adding to this help file so can have a full hack list on the system.

added 13 roms today with ease just waiting on my custom marquee to come back and new screen bezzel and my machine is nearly complete will post some picturs of it soon. still got to designe my side art for the cabinet.

right better get some shut eye as busy morning stripping painting and vinaling to do so i can reinstall the control pannel tommorow night getting game withdrawl symtoms as dident get my usal hr play after work as i had striped it all out in my lunch hour.

I managed to install some roms and launch them with a newly installed mame (0.123)

I also fixed the ugly streching for vertical games for having them like original orientation (rotation clockwize)

Still I have few probs...

1- I can't get the contols to save : might be fixed by the TEST MENU/SAVE CONFIG after editing the .bat

2- When mame loads it switches in VGA and so when it returns to the frontend it's on VGA... I don't know where to look as my mame.ini is set as the other mame.

that's all for the resolution probs

Some others infos that I could grab  :

NeoGeo roms are runs by FBA and Nebula (few hacks)
NeoGeo roms runs really slow using mame, that's why it uses FBA I think, we might try NeoRAGEX maybe... back to the basics :P

Sound Freq is 11025 instead of 44100

CPS3 runs really slowly on mame...(not really new)

CPS3emulator can not initialize video mode, or something like that...

That's all for now

In my opinion the data on the CF disk is probably encrypted, using a secured key on the usb dongle to live decrypt the data while playing with the 465in1.

There might be a solution, if you'll be able to find a way to associate the dongle and the cf card using an appropriate software you might access the data.

Is'nt it any way to contact the manufacturer (of the 465in1) ?

I guess it's done on purpose to prevent people to alter the content of the system! This way the manufacturer is able to maintain his rent and to propose new cards that slightly differ from the previous one.

The usb dog is recognized under windows but it seems it requires specific drivers we do not have... damned  >:D

ok, few hours later...
on the 1066in1

- Pluggin a keyboard mess the encoder. You have to unplug the PS/2 connector on the PC2Jamma board before (boot, unplugPS/2, plug keyboard)
However, when exiting to the OS, it crashes or runs a hideos, anyway black screen...

WIP report :
I can add a new mame.
I can add new roms to a new mame or an already installed one (need to try the other emu)
I can run vertical games on original orientation
I fixed the switch back to VGA problem

BUT...
I can't get it to have the right control input
If I try to input it myself passing by the TAB menu, I can get it, but no as it should. Quarter circle moves doesn't works (Hadouken and so on...) and also it can't be saved.

how did you fix the vert games as well intrested in that too will add any thing to help file.

as for you control issues make sure you copy defult.cfg from game2 to cfg folder in copy to new mame cfg and also to files game99 cfg as it contains the layout for joysticks / buttons.

think all we need now is to see how easy it is going to be to add new emulators to the system as said going to try adding lazer discs and snes nes and genniss emulation to then will make it a great alrounder.

scale_effect            none
hwstretch               1
# screen                <NULL> (not set)
cleanstretch            auto
resolution              640x480x16
zoom                    2
refresh                 60
scanlines               0
switchres               1
switchbpp               1
maximize                1
keepaspect              1
matchrefresh            0
syncrefresh             0
throttle                1

Right will have alook see when i get back to the office later on tonight was using the mame.ini from earlyer original instals will modifie the mame.ini and try running some more roms when i get back.

i tried running.

Aladin <japan Bootleg> this split the screen on the monitor think it trying to up the resolution.

Pacland this scrambled the screen as if it swiched back in to vga mode.

thats all i have had time to do as work and the girlfriend over all week end so havent had much chance to mess with the system any ideas for adding new emulators i think i can do it by adding in the games.bat like so going to try this when i got the roms for lazer disc

by adding games23 installing the emulator there

editing games.bat

if%1==lair   goto   emu23

:emu23
cd\emu\game22
daphne.exe lair vldp -framefile "c:emu\game24\framefilepath\lair.txt" -fullscreen -noserversend
goto end

adding to the games0.lst

and .fav file should do the trick i think let me know if any one else has come up with a better soulution as i said this is a therory but will give it a go maybe later on tonight got 2 games i can try running on it to see what happens.

road blaster and astro chase.

other emulators will be easyer to run as the rom files are just 1 file snes nes sega mega drive.

just by adding a new game folder installing the emulator

intalling the roms in to the roms folder

adding a exicute file for the emulator in the game.bat file and adding the if= line.

this is just ideas atm but hopfult will become reality.

adding emulator is pretty easy if they support command line :
example
play1 -ssf2t

need to run at 640x480x16 resolution

the main problem with new emu is to map the correct keys.
Titre: rajout de roms sur PCB 2800 in 1
Posté par: MaNiAc-Uk le Dimanche 23 Mars 2008, 15:55:05 PM
does anyone know what the key map is for the system layout then should be able to transpose the key commands to any system. ie for snes coin 1 could be start usage of other keys could addapted just need a lay out file so can reprogram any system to exsept it.

P1 start =
P2 start =

Joystick 1

Up =
Down =
Left =
Right =

Joystick 2

Up =
Down =
Left =
Right =

P1 button 1 =
P1 button 2 =
P1 button 3 =
P1 button 4 =
P1 button 5 =
P1 button 6 =

P2 button 1 =
P2 button 2 =
P2 button 3 =
P2 button 4 =
P2 button 5 =
P2 button 6 =

Coin 1 =
coin 2 =
Quit =

once we have this you can program mame to exsept each game with custom buttons by just adding them to the cfg file.

and should be able to modifie any system to be able to play game with.

will have a look at the defult file when i get back to my office later on this evening.

even with copying C:\emu\game1\cfg\default.cfg to my C:\emu\newemu\cfg\default.cfg I can not get it to work, I don't really know why...

you missed one thats not were the system reads from you need to copy it also to

d:\filebak\cfgbak\newemu\cfg\defult.cfg

other wise wont see it try that first.

Yup it worked for me as with out the defult.cfg file will try running the keyboard config not the joy stick one.

cool how did you add the cheat file to mame take it you added the full zinc set? hehe

Might try adding dragons lair and space ace tonight if i get some time to go to work

should have the latest sets of zinc and daphne on monday to add if my mate turns up with them.

Just orderd 1gb ram for the board so should have that in the next day or so from ebay.

will check out my config mame.ini file and edit it to see if that works with my image problem then going to add more roms have added about 14 roms so far

think might look in to diffrent emu system to get nba jam and mortal combat working properly  or should i say midway games working properly. might try running them under the latest mame and see if they run ok if not time for a new emu me thinks.

also need to figure out how to get vector games working better under they system have had starwars running but its not good quality missing tops and bottoms of letters.

Might try putting 500gb hd in there then theres plenty of space for roms and any other systems i might install ie jukebox.

will add missing samples to system later on today.

any one else got some other good ideas for the system?

Drop me a PM for the download links and the password.

the pack is about 1.7GB, so I think you'll need to change the HD for a bigger one.

Anyway it's better to keep a backup. Some bugs might still need to be corrected, as I didn't had time to test them all. If some fixes are needed, it should be easy to correct.

Done!
wip can ad roms up to mame 0.106
wip can customise back grounds
wip can custmise controls
wip can add zinc roms
wip auto rotation no squashing of screen works well
wip can add mp3 Jukebox (joystick remamped and working with gui page next and page prev)

Jukebox skin:
going to develop one that will work with my machine ie match the menu screen i have designed will let you know how that goes tommorow.

Not complete laser disc support:

having issues with screen settings but when i get my mate over he is a guru in the matter so will have alook see what he has written.

its sort of working just got to mess with settings to get it launch right.

Mame update to 0.123:

Adding MP3 Jukebox to XXXX in 1

Right here is how to add a juke box to the system. would use a bigger hard drive if you like your music like i do.

make new folder in c:\emu

Name the folder Jukebox

then download the jukebox software from http://dwjukebox.com/

un zip it in Jukebox

right to configure the juke box there are 2 files of intrest:

jukebox.ini (system config file)

controls.ini (controls config file)

editing the jukebox.ini

Line37 Width = 640 (change to)
Line38 Height = 480(change to)

Line204 RequireCredits = false (havent configured the coin slots yet)

Line309 AllowDuplicatesInQueue = True (if you like hearing the same tune more than once)
Line494 SongPath1 = C:\emu\Jukebox\mp3 (where you store your MP3 files)

right now copy over your mp3 to selected folder.

run c:\emu\Jukebox\wincab.exe

it will now read the mp3s and index them all

after you have done this would jump back in to jukebox.ini

edit line525 UpdateIndex = false (this will stop it trying to search the internet to identife all the id3 tags each time it starts as we havent got network support as yet.)

right now to edit the controls open up controls.ini scroll down to joy1 i have edited mine like below.

JOY1_UP = BTN_GUI_UP
JOY1_DOWN = BTN_GUI_DOWN
JOY1_LEFT = BTN_GUI_LEFT
JOY1_RIGHT = BTN_GUI_RIGHT
JOY1_BUTTON1 = BTN_GUI_SELECT
JOY1_BUTTON2 = BTN_PREVPG
JOY1_BUTTON3 = BTN_NEXTPG
JOY1_BUTTON4 = BTN_FIRSTPG
JOY1_BUTTON5 = BTN_LASTPG
JOY1_BUTTON6 = BTN_RANDOM

once that is all done time to set up the system to reconise it

you will need to edit games.bat

add to the bottom of the roms list before the commands

if %1==jukebox     goto jukebox

then down the bottom of the file just after game2 add the following.

:jukebox
cd\emu\Jukebox
wincab.exe
goto end

now all you have to do is is edit the games list in D:\filebak\english\lstbak\files\game-0.lst

add to list in the usal way have added # symbol to make sure its at the top of the list

jukebox
# MP3 Jukebox #

thats all you have to do to add a jukebox to your machine.

working on installing a wifi card to the machine so i can get the juke box to support internet radio and remote music servers.

I can fix it if you want, actually I clearly see where the problem is...
As I said, I clearly had no time to test them all. I am planning to release a corrective pack for this on rapidshare soon.

I can already tell you that you won't have any control with puzzloop2 and that new fantasia is missing.

For the laggy namco games, there's nothing to do as it's a hardware lack, I tought maybe with more RAM in it it would be fine, but I hadn't as much RAM.

its cool having a fun afternoon of testing the new games dont think im critersiing what you have done its great. Well ram dont seem to help the lagging unforchantly. my board is now running over a 1gb ram and dont like it might have a go at installing a second graphics card to see if that sorts the problem the only problem with that is i would need to boot in to windows to install the drivers unless i can find a generic windows2000 card that dont need drivers.

your running a vertical? monitor as some of the new games were booting sideways but corrected that.

good bit of coding hats off to you Jeston

Its mame 0.123 thats bugging me will post pictures later of the problem i am suffering. actualy might i thought of a soulution to the problem will have a think about it and let you lot know

Hi guys! Backup has arrived from Sweden. Very nice to see that im not alone in trying to get the most out of the xxxx-in-1-gamebox. Haven't gotten that far yet, just bought my board a couple of weeks ago. Although, i have managed to make a complete copy & changed the drive to a bigger one. Also, the old skin needed to go so i made a new one & changed colours & fonts.

Has anyone thought of uppdating winmame to the latest Mamewah? Might be some hassle, but if we can get it to work im sure it would be worth it. Installing new emu's & other neat things would't be any problem at all.

Well, will keep my eyes on this thread & contribute as much as i can. Great work so far!

its funny you should say that was looking at mamewah thinking how simular it is was mamewin. wonder how easy it would be to make it run. but seeing as i have never played with the system im not sure. might give it a go think i have another spare hard drive kicking around will need to read up on how the system works but im sure its must be possible some how. will keep adding my findings as i get them. here and xxxx-in-1.wikidot.com join up and help the project.

I think that Mamewin is an early version of what later on became Mamewah so hopefully they should be quite compatible.

Some other things that are on my todo-list:

-Adding hiscore. Should be really easy, can't see why they have skipped this from the beginning. Info, see: http://www.mameworld.net/highscore/

-Adding an amigaemulator

Btw, are your cpu-fans very loud?  I changed mine to a Papst 60mm & can now enjoy the sounds of silence when im not playing. Clearly worth the 20$ the new fan cost.

thats what i thought too but couldent find any history on mamewin at all this site was the only site that i found through google by typing babystar.exe

its most defently a lerning curve this project and the system keeps getting better and better due to us scripters making it so.

sit down chill out and edit away

Ok, I'll see tonight for the fixes.

I don't know about the 3D ones, is it emulation status related problem, a missing config file or a lack of hardware, I will check it.

For puzz loop, I'm pretty sure I can make it works.

I'll see for the Midway games too.

As emulators like mame use pure software rendering and do not use the graphic card to render 3D games, and as you already have added ram on the system, why not change the CPU ? A good Pentium IV 3ghz will incredibly boost the overrall performance of the system  :). The only issue is the heat :/ Anybody got a picture of the cooling system on the cpu ?
Titre: rajout de roms sur PCB 2800 in 1
Posté par: jonis le Mercredi 26 Mars 2008, 22:06:38 PM
The original cpu fan is an AMD 70x15mm. The loudest fan i have ever heard.  8)

As i said before, a papst 60mm will do the trick and it fits just perfect. Since the fan seem to run 100% all the time i'm not really worried about cooling, the orginal cpu would probably run with just the heatsink without any problems.

Here is a picture of how it looked originally:

changes to partition C:

How to genorate .cfg files i do this by having a full romset set up on pc with mame32 on run the game it will automaticly make one in the cfg folder and if the game need nvram will also create this too just copy them over to game22\cfg and the nvram to game22\nvram as shown below

C:\emu\game22\cfg\pacland.cfg
C:\emu\game22\nvram\pacland.nv

edit the following

C:\emu\batch\cnfsave.bat

Just add the following to this file just instert it under one relating  to game2

xcopy / s / y / vc: \emu\game22\cfg\ *.* d:\filebak\cfgbak\game22\cfg
xcopy / s / y / vc: \emu\game22\nvram\ *.* d:\filebak\cfgbak\game22\nvram

Now edit this file

C:\emu\batch\game.bat

When you oppen this file scroll down to nere the end of the file if you on the latest version of the offical software it will be
if% 1==rampage goto emu2 if your running older think it was rtype or something simular. every time i add i also add a place marker wich is done using the rem command as shown below. add the following

rem Mame0.124b games added by MaNiAc-Uk

if% 1 == pacland goto emu22

now scroll down you will see emu2 just make a space and paste the following just telling the rom which emulator to use

emu22
cd \emu\game22
1% play1.exe
goto end

save the file and move on to the next file nearly done with drive c

C:\emu\batch\game.ini

pacland = 1

c:\game_rom\roms <---- Add new rom to this folder

c:\emu\snap <---- add screen shot here if its a new rom wont already be in there make sure its called the same as the rom ie. pacman.png

**Now to edit the second partition d:**

copy *.cfg to and *.nv to the following directorys

D:\filebak\cfgbak\game22\cfg\pacland.cfg

D:\filebak\cfgbak\game22\nvram\packland.nv

Edit this file just go to the end of the file and add

D:\filebak\cfgbak\batch\game.ini

pacland = 1

this edit is has to be done right there are 10 line spaces between each new game added the last added game must have 11 line spaces othe wise it will spit up errors and not show the list right.

D:\filebak\english\lstbak\files\game-0.lst

pacland
Pacland <rev7>

Thats it all done re install your hard drive and your good to go enjoy

Good work Maniac.

The thing about using the original frontend the bugs me the most is that we have to go trough the hassle of adding the game to a list etc when we want to update instead of just adding the game to a folder. Same thing if we like to add more emu's, it won't be as easy as it could be. I'm quite sure this could be solved by using Mamewah. Although, I suspect that there might be some complications with the installation. I haven't figured out the connection between the dipswitches on the board & the software for example and that feels quite necessary.
Titre: rajout de roms sur PCB 2800 in 1
Posté par: MaNiAc-Uk le Samedi 29 Mars 2008, 15:21:44 PM
the only way i think it could be done is find the launch script for the application on windows start up and edit it to point to mamewah instead of the babystar.exe but it also runs coinme.exe and vgatv or somthing like that as well we know babystar.exe is the menu system so if you were to substitute that for mamewah would probably work but dont knoe if the 3&4 board would work with it and would you be able to change video settings save cfg etc.

its not hard to add games at all its just a challenge and if it was that easy every one would do it lol.

but been looking at maximus arcade as well another system that would run probably but it all depends on how the conectons react ie coin start joystick from all my tests they seems to be pritty standard so whos going to give it ago.

maniac, I think you forgot something in your mame124 tutorial :

Copy C:\emu\game22\cfg to D:\configbak\game22\cfg
                          D:\configbakd\game22\cfg
Copy C:\emu\game22\nvram to D:\configbak\game22\nvram
                            D:\configbakd\game22\nvram

same as what is said in cnfsafe.bat

About HW modifications, especially the fan, I don't really see the point of it, as the system is used inside the cab and is far less noisy than many arcade systems such as Naomi, AtomisWave and CPS2.
As for the HD rack, I don't think about changing the HD every day.
For the CPU change, I think it could result in instablility in the main OS, so I would't recommend it.

About changing the frontend ;currently mamewin; for the latest mamewah, I don't really see the point neither.
For now, I think the systems works the following way :
- win2k (light) starts
- babystar.exe starts and launches coinme.exe and vgatv.exe
- coinme.exe launches mamep.exe (for english) or mamew.exe (for chinese)

So I think if you want to change the frontend, you would have to edit babystar.exe, so you will need to decompile it... so a really big mess for nothing much...

What I mean is that the purpose of the 10xxin1 was to provide an all in 1 plug & play device instead of an homemade PC config.
I think if we go too far in HW and SW mods it will just loose its advantage over the homemade PC, as the homemade PC.

It's far easier to config an homemade PC using mamewah than a 10xxin1, also the homemade PC will output native resolution wich is more enjoyable (mostly 321x240) while the 10xxin1 outputs  filtered 640x480 (however I think the 465in1 outputs native).

Conclusion, if you really want a customized system, mayble it would be better to starts on a good basis wich is the homemade PC.

I think the more we could do for the 10xxin1 would be to write a script for automaticly add new games, but I don't have any knowledge about scripting.
Maybe a simple .bat would do the job.
I think the SETUP/UPDATESYSTEM option is about that...

wait and see..

**Now to edit the second partition d:**

copy *.cfg to and *.nv to the following directorys

D:\filebak\cfgbak\game22\cfg\pacland.cfg

D:\filebak\cfgbak\game22\nvram\packland.nv

didient copy to the other folder as thats just a restore point if anything messes up but i did notice that when you try to save config through mamewin save config it freazes will copy accross and try again see if thats why its not working as i was trying to with only one set.

will add to the turtorial had been up for 20hrs when i wrote it. lol. thanks for pointing it lol if there are any other mistakes please let me know.

as for the processor swap i think your right im sure win2000 lite wouldent like it as its compiled around a prossecor well as far as my memory servers me as i had a processor failure on a old win2000 machine and tryed swapping it and the system dident work,

my fan isnt that nosie but handy to know just incase it does fail in the future.

my hard drive mods just me want to make it all look nice and tidy will aslo be mounting the 3&4 config board some were easy to make changes.

had wired my led buttons to the +5v and -5v off a spare hd connector but seam to burn them out too quick might add the ultramark ledboard as then it will have the right voltage and can add atract modes through the system.

as for mamewah cannot be arsed as the amount of scripting to get it working would be loads.

as for game add script have been thinking about it should be able to do it even though i have never done anything like it nither but will have a look in to it would need a input screen so you could enter the <rom name> and <rom title> and some way of identifing c: and d: as when you mount it i wont show as c: unless your like me where my opperating system is on e: and i have moved dvd roms and other hard drives to letters after e: you would also need a full set of roms snap and cfg + nvram for the games that your going to install so you could just type the names.

would work like this

you enter rom name followed by rom title it would then copy the files accross that would be the easy bit then you would have to have to tell it were to insert in the bat files and and also have figure a way for it to insert in to game.ini and in to the games list might give it a go if i can find a automation scrip writting system.

will let you know what i come up with might even reserch it today wilst im at home.

think the easyist way of doing this would be a manual copy of the snap.jpg/png  rom.zip and rom.cfg rom.nv to there appropriate folders then a automation script to to the editing thats the best i could probably do. Think we nedd to find us some one who could write a programm to do this all as a complete automation exe would be wicked might have word with a mate who is doing a programming course atm see if he is up for a challeng.

for the C: and D: partitions looking as H: and I: on my system or E: and F: maybe on yours, just easy to insert something like a dialog box.

Point your C: drive
Point your D: drive

or maybe 2 .bat that would need to be executed from the main directories, one for C:, one to D:

Sounds like a good idea. I use a small 2-hd rack from an old computer screwed down next to the machine. Looks like this when it was still loose. Very convenient.

eek just had a look at your picture your running a ibm drive back that up and bin the drive they are the most unreliable drive your computer can have running in it the amount of data i have lost to those suckers get a maxstor or anything but a IBM drive.

as for my hard drive project just orderd 2 of these suckers on for machine side and one to be bolted to the arcade machine so i can pull it in and out with much easyness.

I have both future pinball & visual pinball with a bunch of roms but i belive the same thing as you do, they won't run proper without a proper graphics card and alot more ram. Might as well put the energy elsewhere. I am working on my own cocktail table with an old 28" television and a computer. The main purpose is to be able to play pinball on it. Might be neat.

regaring the ibm disks, I used them because those were the ones I had laying around. Might upgrade later, but i still have a full backup of it so it won't be any trouble if (when) it crashes.

I think one have to use a special build, the 0.113u2 version of mame for it to work. I might have missed something here, please correct me if im wrong.

the wikidot site has gone down think some one has hacked it as its now a search engine have managed to rip all the information off it and will be re launching it soon as i get a approprot domain and set the server up to host it.

have also removed NBA jam and mortal combat 2. i have swaped Golden tee 3D golf to golden tee joystick addition as it now alows me to hit the ball more than 20 feet at a time.

Tryed to get killer instinct 1/2 running via mame with no luck as yet dosent seem to reconise the chd file for some silly reason.

going to try u64emu and see if i can get them running that way.

have given up on daphne emulator till i get any more information on the system.
managed to get sega genisis running just not playing yet will give it more of a tweek tomorow and see if it works out.

right im out of here time to go look at more games lists to deside what else to add.

Titre: rajout de roms sur PCB 2800 in 1
Posté par: MaNiAc-Uk le Vendredi 04 Avril 2008, 02:26:03 AM
yup they did well 2 readable ones and one fat32 hidden one that if you mess with you lose the abblitiy to boot will just loop dont know if its a system lock or what it is lol but what ever it is dont mess with it.

Posté par: jonis le Vendredi 04 Avril 2008, 12:42:25 PM
Ah, alright, just wanted to confirm. Seems like mine is a bit different, probably because it's a few years old. It only uses one partition.

Root looks like this:

What have they put on the second partition, only the "filebak" folder?
Titre: rajout de roms sur PCB 2800 in 1
Posté par: MaNiAc-Uk le Vendredi 04 Avril 2008, 15:53:15 PM
yup thats what they have done so follow any instructions written just always copy to the c:\filebak\whatever file path pointed to instead of d:\filebak\filepath\

and if that dont work would give tim a shout www.jammabords.com he has a updated hard drive for sale.

so how many roms does yours have on it as standard?

i think the reson for the 2 partitions is if a hard drive does fail some time it only destroys 1 partition and seeing as all the config is being retreaved of partition 2 thats the one which will have a file error but its all backed up with in the mame system as well so it could be restored with ease.

then again i have had hard drives set fire lose partition maps and alsorts think out of all the years exsperince as a server builder / networks manageer the one thing i say i back up back up back up.

talking of witch i have to make a new image of my drive just incase of any problems seeing as mine is now running 1222 games and a jukebox.

will be adding more after the week end.  Was thinking about copying a full 20 dvd rom set including chd files over to roms folder as then i wouldent have to faf around hunting for the roms in my direcorys then copying them over to the drive have already copyed over full set of snap dir so i dont have to hunt the .png .jpg.

also wondering if some one has a complete cfg folder as well then wouldent have to create cfg files for each added rom other wise you get the usal please enter ok thing every time unless you add them. might google that later on.

just had a look full rom set sitting around 79gb so if i was to install a 200+ gb hard drive would make sence and just remove non working games from the system. shame i have used a 500gb drive that i had kicking around for another project other wise would put that in and have my mp3 libray and all the roms as well mind probably get a 320gb or somthing like that see what happens later on.

if i did that then writing a game adding script wouldent be that hard i could write one in a macro senario that would just add the roms to the games list and the .bat file .ini files would be a time saving system would be alot of wasted data but with mame envolving all the time most of the games could be added over time then just remove the redunded roms and shrink drive back to right so no more can be added then creat a 3rd partition for interaction with the jukebox for mp3s cover art and anything else.

think i will be making a trip to pc world later on to get one.

Posté par: MaNiAc-Uk le Vendredi 04 Avril 2008, 20:38:57 PM
400gb hard drive soon to be installed just copying over data from old drive to new then will copy complete mame 0.123 rom set over and add to mame.ini so its readable. Now i dont have to copy over a new rom every time i want to play somthing new i just add it to the list or write a macro to do it for me. will also exspand my jukebox to have all my mp3 libary on it yay must make the controlls a little more user friendly as i have noticed some glitches with them.

just need a complete cfg file and nvram file as well then my job is done lol.

going to work on a script to add games automaticly next by just adding 2 lines of text will add to the file well hopfuly if i can get the system working will know if windows 2000 will take such a large drive shortly. 33 mins till 79gb is over on the drive.

having dificulty getting to see a bigger drive dident like the 400gb think i have cracked it using a 250gb drive instead will try in the morning  going to make a back up of the 60 gb one so i have a recovery image as i done too much to lose it now then will copy the image to the 250gb one and up the partition size to around the 200gb size and see what happens then going to add a full set of roms so i don't have to hunt the roms in the roms dir.

also the homemade PC will output native resolution wich is more enjoyable (mostly 321x240) while the 10xxin1 outputs  filtered 640x480 (however I think the 465in1 outputs native).

Now that's interesting !

I have just bought the new "2800 in 1" Game's Family for my Egret II, I can't test it since i will have my cab at the end of the month.

Can you tell us if the output of the xxxin1 if really far different from the native output of an original jamma board, and if yes, in wich ways. Or is this almost the same ?

the xxxx in 1 puts out at 640x480 as thats what the systems set to do can be set up to other formats with a little bit of coding the 465 probably will do the same thing seeing as its produced at the same factory.

1069 in 1 runs unlocked windows and can be modified to do a whole host of trick things.
465 in 1 runs dongle protected linux and cannot be modified that easliy have herd roumors about people doing it but havent had any hard evedence.

just to let every one know have fixed the mk and nba jam issue i dumped the celron and added a P4 2.5Ghz 512 400 and all games now run right.

to find out more come over to the xxxx in 1 project www.xxxx-in-1.com

right cracked it been a busy man today. have cloned the 10gb hard drive to a 60gb hard by taking the hard drive off the motherboard installing it in my xp machine.

I did exactly everything that is shown, with puyo puyo sun game STV on my 3000 in 1 (The Bios STV is already on the card). I have the game that appears in the list but it does not start. What can I Do?
