Posté par: glstar le Jeudi 01 Août 2013, 10:00:36 AM
Hi all....
My beloved hotd4 machine is broken.....
I don't know why but this monday i've come back from my holidays, and with my great surprise the machine tv doesn't turn up anymore....
This machine have an LG 52SZ8R dlp retro projector into....
All is working fine, but the tv simply won't turn on....
All i have is the power led to go orange and blink for approximatively 50 seconds and then turn red and stop blinking...
I don't know if something fail in the tv itself or if the lamp died....
I'm depressed......[:^(]

Please help me...

HI  <:)
Did you test the system with another screen =?=
Have you VGA output in your system =?=
Yes.
The lindbergh is working perfectly fine on another monitor.
Same is for all the cabinet (sensors, lights etc...).
Only the monitor cannot power on....
I cannot understand if something happen into the power circuit, or if is the lamp the problem....
But what i really cannot understand is how this had happened....
I left the power cord detached from the cab for all my holidays....
So how this could be???

Did you unplug and plug the lamp, earlier i had a Sony KDL , and one time i deconnect  the lamp, clean her then connect her.... it worked  :-)=

Also if not working you must replace her :-[

I tried to unplug the lamp, but i didn't clean it....
Maybe i should try this too.....
But do you think the lamp is the problem?
Because the led blinking is the power led, not the lamp led.....
But i also read that sometimes you can have bad indication by the lamp, so that it's broken even if you cannot see the lamp led up...

Maybe it's the contact between lamp/power.
The "error codes" in every machines is not 100% sure ;)
I know about that, i install gaz/fuel boilers with régulations, and it's never the right error code/trouble :D

Try to clean the connectors of your lamp and TV with alcohol  <:)
The machine maybe had smoke and dust =?=

Good luck

I'll try some clean today....
The machine seems to be in good order with no dust or smoke, but lately here in Rome, the weather was very bad, so maybe some umidity comes into my place.....
I've to check...
In the meantime, thank you very much for all your hints...

Maybe it is not your issue, but there is a thing to know with HOD4DX cabs.
If the power cable (i mean the main power of the whole cab) has been unplugged for a while, you will need to manually push the button of the monitor to power on it.

Hi bro....
No, i cannot see any light on the lamp....
If you mean test into the cabinet, yes, but it's only visible if i connect the lindbergh on another monitor....
I was told that 99% is the lamp that needs to be replaced...
I hope...

can you put some video or picture of the issue .
I find it strange that suddendly you have nothing .
I do not know if the cab is like the one we have but normally you have 3 light Red green blue . It would be strange that all 3 goes dead together. In some cases it is a board in the screen that is dead . By hitting the test button or adjust button on the screen you can get something .

possibly lifetime of lamps (there must be a hidden menu to check life hours remaining..) as on every rear projector....   luckily it wouldnt be too difficult to replace such screen by a modern Lcd.

Tortue near Paris had some problems of broken screen on his HOD4DLX,  but dont know what specific thing he had to solve  (the seller repaired it or replaced the screen)

This type of cab doesn't have 3 lamps like the old retro, but just one lamp....
So if the lamp is dead you cannot see anything...
I was told by many to change the lamp, so yesterday i've ordered a replacement....
Let's see if this will fix the problem.....

Yes, i read that someone replace that screen with a 51" plasma....
I just don't know if this type of solution will fit correctly with no gap inside the cab.

Some news =?=
The other day a friend comes to see the tv, since he works with electronic from 30 years.
We dismount the tv and do some measurements with the tester.
We just found that:
-The lamp button is working correctly, because if i don't push it i got green light flashing on the lamp led.
-Both fan spins and works correctly when we switch on the tv.
-On the power board we have 390v on the output, so it should be ok.
-On output of the lamp power board we got nothing.....
We remove lamp and put the tester into the the power board output and we got no volts, nothing...
Don't know if there's something prevent this, but just seems to produce no voltage on the output....
All the time the tv have the power led red.
Then i switch on the tv using the remote or using the key on the front panel, and the power led become orange and start flashing, then after some times just come back to red.
When this happen, both fans stop spinning.....
All seems to be working perfectly fine, so i just don't know what's going on.....
