Alimentation, Electricité / Sega G-loc deluxe motor power supply
Mercredi 20 Février 2019, 13:44:29 PM
Just some tips - my last restore (https://www.gamoover.net/Forums/index.php?topic=40992.0)

I have put some (TO-220 Heat Sink) on the Q20 and Q22 (K1250)

I think the missing cooling causes them to blow up.
So get some heat sinks and termal grease and mount them  ^-^

Also if you change the PC910 - then get some DIP8 sockets, and put the new PC910 chips in sockets, then they are easier to change next time.
(hopefully there will be no next time) :)

And my G-loc still runs  ^-^

Alimentation, Electricité / Sega G-loc deluxe motor power supply

HI

Yes I got some L2 transformers from China - but the first ones I ordered i only had around 12V at the testpoints where i needed to have 15V.
All the other voltages where fine, just the 15V where around 11-12V and i do not now if the 15V is needed...maybe GC339 can confirm is 15V i is needed, or 12V is fine?

So I had order some more from china, but i have not tested them yet, so I do not know if they are OK.

I will send you two completely free, if you just pay for the shipping. ^-

Just send me a PM with your address, and i will try to figure out what the shipping cost could be.
I hope that you get your G-loc up and running - I would like to see some pictures of the restoration process. :)

Nice work  ^-^

Is your Rad mobile still working after you did the second repair to your power supply?
This time i have mounted som cooling fins on Q20 and Q22 (K1250)
On my there where none, I am thinking as it where the K1250 who where dead, it might be caused by heat.

If someone needs the service manual for adjusting the pontometers or greasing, then you can get a copy of my manual here:

Hi

YES YES YES - Finnaly!! (again) I now have movement!!   :-)= :-)= :-)=

ITS ALIVE !!!  :-)=
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLg24sFB-rw

I have read CG339's guide over and over -> https://www.gamoover.net/Forums/index.php?topic=28406.msg453283#msg453283.. and finnaly i managed to put two and two together :)
in this tread where he shows a diagram of the control logic, he mentions PC7,PC8,PC9 and PC10 as components who isolates the high voltage and low voltage...

So i where thinking  ;).. maybe they are dead, and i did not know how to test them so i swaped them with some new

So if you have all the correct volts, checked for burned traces.. but no movement then change
PC7,PC8,PC9,PC10 then you have movement.

I have updated my repair log on module 3 -> https://www.dropbox.com/s/cajy4szrq1bybzj/Nomenclature.ods?dl=0

Anyone??? help... plz  :D

An update more - I have uploaded an Excel file to dropbox and marked all the components green that i have changed.
Components marked brown i have tested in circuit, and yellow the components i think is related to the logic movement part.

See the tab "Repair log module 3" for all the parts that i have changed/tested on this board.

Hopefully someone can guide me in the right direction in what i need to test/change in order to get the final movement part working

I have tried to follow GC339 (answer 10) here -> https://www.gamoover.net/Forums/index.php?topic=28406.msg453283#msg453283

The above board I have changed the PC8 because it had a burned spot.

I have also changed all the zener diodes ZD03->ZD11 (because when for two years ago when i successful repaired a driver cage the reason for the missing movement where some bad Zener diodes)

but still no movement.....

Hi

I hope that some one is able to help me.

My issue is that i have three defective G-LOC Motor Driver Boards / cages.
I have one fully working cage but I need two.

I have managed to get all the correct voltages present, but when I test them in my Sega g-loc deluxe there is no movement.
(only movement if i mount the one powersupply that there is working)

The last year i have tried to find out why but i have not been able to solve the issue, so therefor I reach out to you again in my last hope that some one can help me.

I am willing to ship the cages and all my components for repair and also some money to that person who might be able to help me.  ^-^

I have followed the super guide written by GC339 here https://www.gamoover.net/Forums/index.php?topic=28660.0

Good afternoon :)

Hope that someone has some tips...so that i can find the error in my two restored powersupplys.

I am stuck at the moment.  :(

I just had tried to restore my thirid power supply, i had hoped that it had worked but no.
The third one I also have all the correct voltages, but the red LED is not lighting up at this one...?!?  (I have not tested it in the G-loc before i can get a red light)

I GC339 is reading this post, give me a private message or an email to my address perjmolsen@hotmail.com I am willing to send my three defective powersuppelys to you and some money..

Hi

I hope that GC339 is still at this board, and might have a hint or two  :)

My issue is that I for the second time has restored two of my powersupplys for my Gloc, but i am unable to get any movement when i test them in my Sega G-loc.

I have one working powersupply, but i need two.

Back in my first post (https://www.gamoover.net/Forums/index.php?topic=36585.msg615688#msg615688) where i also where stuck with no movement,  I for some reason managed to get movement by changing the  ZD6, ZD7 and ZD11 and there where movement.

BUT this time i have tested (no fault), and changed the Z6,ZD7 and ZD11 but still no movement.

All the requried voltages are present. (step 1-4 in https://www.gamoover.net/Forums/index.php?topic=28660.0)
Also all the MOSFETS are OK step 6-8
I have tested all the K422 they are OK

Is there any way that i can narrow it it where the defective component is ?

Racecabs & Simulateurs / Sega G-loc down again :(
Mardi 05 Juin 2018, 08:26:56 AM
Hi

Just an update - I now have fixed the power supply  ^-^

It where just the ground to the middle leg of 78L05 that where missing, so it did not regulate the voltage.
I attached a jumper to repair the trace, so now   there is 5 V present, so now test4 i complete

It also passes test 5  ^-

I had to repair a couple of the traces on the board, it is not a pretty but it works :)

Test 6
All the MOSFETS is also tested, and some replaced.

Back side:

Front:

Now the final test is to put it in the Gloc and see if it works.... hopefully no bad smell..

I also had repaired another of my defective power supplys (the one where i fried/burned the L2 transformer last year)

I have gotten some new L2 transformeres from china, and mounted it

But i think that they might had the windings wrong, because ex  in test 4  where i need to have 15V i only have 11.37V (12V if i messure at the input diode D9)

But it passes all the other tests, so i do not know if it needs 15V or 12-13 i OK for it to work? might Gc339 have some inputs? :)

5V is fine

Racecabs & Simulateurs / Sega G-loc down again :(
Jeudi 15 Février 2018, 11:33:40 AM
HI

Just an update - I hope that CG339 might still be around to help me out this time also :)

I now have managed to get a bit longer in step 4 in this guide. > https://www.gamoover.net/Forums/index.php?topic=28660.0

I now have:
Input at D9 = 18,3 V
ZD3 = 15,4 V (changed Q5) then it where OK

But output at Vpc7 and Vpc8 is to high, I measure it to 15,4 V it must be 5 V
I have changed IC9 and IC10 but still high voltage.

Hope that someone can help me a bit :)

Hi

A small update

I have followed the steps in this repair guide
http://www.gamoover.net/Forums/index.php?topic=28660.0

Step 1 to 3 is complete and all checks out OK, so far so good  :-)=

But step 4 there is no input voltage at "D9" - so i have to figure out why.  =?=
so i am stuck at this step at the moment

If any have some imput please feel free to comment :)

Kind regards
