Hi.
I upgraded some Non Net Dimm board to 4.02, using the method from the great TylerDurden.
I have some problems with all of them....
Some days ago i do several test.
All the boards are working without the gdrom cable connected.
It's really strange....
Without the gdrom cable connected, all boots and i can also go in test menu and there it shows 4.02 and good dimm rom....
But if i shutdown the cab, reconnect the gdrom and power the cab, all i have is black screen.....
then i tried with a legit netdimm and it works.
then i tried using the bottom board of the legit netdimm with the top of the normal dimm and it works.
then i tried using the bottom board of the 4.02 non net dimm with the top board of the legit netdim and it works.
if i use bottom and top boards from the 4.02 modified non net dimm it won't boot......never.
so i can't use gdrom....
so they are useless......

I also do some other test yesterday....
I had an original vxworks 3.03 bottom board that worked perfectly with a non net dimm top board......until i upgraded it to 4.02 via netboot......
Yesterday i upgraded the vxworks bottom board to 4.02 via netboot (of course using his net dimm top board)...
flash was fine....
then i tried again the non net dimm top board and also this one is not working if i connect the gdrom drive (or the cf card reader)....black screen......(of course works just fine with the net dimm top board).
if i remove the gdrom cable is boot again (and of course it gave me error of gdrom missing).

Also tried to delete network settings when used the net dimm top board, but that not change anything....
Now i know that is not a problem with the mod, but a problem with the firmware 4.02, since with 3.03 is was working.
Could it be a naomi 2 bios difference?
I use NAOMI2_EXP_EPR-23608_B.
Could be this the problem?
Otherwise i cannot understand why someone have them working but not me.....even with an original vxworks board....
This is really strange.
Here are some pics of mine settings with non net dimm top board/naomi2 bios/settings....
Do you see something wrong?
Thank you.

Thank you.

Hi.
I have a Zero Gunner 2 cart with IC7-IC8 BAD.
Seems that the problem is related to the mpr-23687 IC4.
Since this is a masked rom, could someone tell me what i can use as replacement chip?

Vos Roadtrips ! / Last roadtrip.....
Lundi 10 Novembre 2014, 11:16:12 AM
Yesterday we went for a trip to get some machines who had been left in place about 18 months ago .....
The owner was really friendly and helpful waiting all this time..... <-lol->
We were really busy between commitments, other things to do, a lot of laziness and lack of desire to do more than 900km trip we always put off until yesterday.
We had already been there so we knew well what was waiting for us and what else we could have taken this time.
Moral of the story we left at 3 am to go back to 6pm, after spending about 4 hours and a half to looking for good stock of spare parts or details of other things that could serve us....
Let's start with the pictures....

We start with:

This is our third .......
But we took it because it really seemed like out of the factory, and it was definitely the best of the three we have.....
Probably one of the three deluxe will be sacrified and cannibalized for reasons of space ....: |
As for the other two are still undecided whether to put the monitor Hantarex 40 "4: 3, or a 16:9 lcd and change the game in Sega Racing Classic .....
We will see the feasibility later ....

Here is a cab that I've never even seen in picture, if not from the flyer:

Wonderful machine and really a good game.......
In very very good state, with the protective plastic still on it.
Of course, it's original Japanese machine .... <-wub->

Then a piece of gaming history .....

Too bad the cab is a bootleg with a pcb of enduro racer bootleg .... :(
I believe in fact that the cab is original in itself, but that it was "customized" for the bootleg market.......

Finally took a cab just to make up the numbers, a game really bad .... (rad rally)

The only thing I like about this machine is the fact that is Japanese and is in excellent condition ....
For the rest of the game sucked even when it came out on the Saturn .....

Here instead is an overview of some very beautiful machines that we did not take, because modified and no more originals....

Both very beautiful .... shame that had been modified ....

Ok let's load all in the van....

That's all for now....
I think long time will pass before we go again in a roadtrip....
Too much machines to take care of now.....and the space is nearly over.....

Lundi 14 Octobre 2013, 15:17:59 PM
Finally after some months i received the Super Monaco Gp Deluxe machine.
The cab is in good conditions....

I was told that the machine was in working order, air system included, but when i powered the machine this is what i got:

After that i try to see what's going on with the board.....
I check and see that a connector was loose....
I reattached this and i got this:

The board committed suicide?

Hi all....
My beloved hotd4 machine is broken.....
I don't know why but this monday i've come back from my holidays, and with my great surprise the machine tv doesn't turn up anymore....
This machine have an LG 52SZ8R dlp retro projector into....
All is working fine, but the tv simply won't turn on....
All i have is the power led to go orange and blink for approximatively 50 seconds and then turn red and stop blinking...
I don't know if something fail in the tv itself or if the lamp died....
I'm depressed......[:^(]

Please help me...

I got this upright more than a years ago and was in not good conditions.....but with my wife and a good friend of mine i manage to have it restored (thank to Stephen of arcadefixit too, for selling me some nos items.... ;D)
This is how the cab was when i got it:

This is how the cab is now:

But.....i've some problems with the board fitted in my Power Drift Upright machine......
I got this cab and is workign apart for two problems.....
One is that the board show some little point on screen sometimes when in play and Always on the first image where the name Power Drift is, on the edge of the words.....and sometimes (just one time until now) for example arrived at stage 3 the board block itself and i've to shutdown the cab and restart to have it work again.
Here you can clearly see the video problems....all that little White dots on the screen...

Second problem is that i cannot hear the audio at all.....
I was think about the power amp etc., but i change it and a friend of mine tested all the audio components and they were all fine (from hardware point of view).
So maybe the audio problem is related to the board itself.
Here you can find some pics of the board itself and in particular of the audio part of the cpu board...

Could you tell me what you think about it?
I've to buy another board or the board can just be repaired (in case do you know from who)?

Please help me finally restoring my power drift cab.
;D

Recently I manage to acquire a sega rally 1 twin.
Left side is blind (no monitor),so I cannot test it,while the right side is "correctly" working...
I only have an audio issue with that...
Basically the first time I play with the cab,the left audio channel stop working after a few minutes.
If I shutdown and restart the cab,the left audio speaker come back to life...but only for a few minutes than stop again.
So I swap the audio board with the other one in the left side.
This time I cannot hear audio from the left speaker at all.
A friend of mine told me that probably could be those chips (only the one manage the left channel)on the audio board to be faulty TA8225H.
Then I bought two new chips so he've replaced both on the audio board (the one originally on the working right side....the one I can hear the sound on the left for a few minutes).
I reconnect this audio board but nothing.....
No sound at all from the left channel, just like when I swap the board with the left side board....
Do you know what else could that be?
A model 2 stack problems,or a cablage problem??
Please let me know if you can.

Thank you.
