Hi @njz3 !  A year ago I bought a couple of VideoAmps, M2 Mega Adapters and PWM2M2 so I can convert my Daytona USA Cabs to PC's, keeping the original CRT monitors.
Now, a year later, I still can't find time to do it but I'm closer :)

I've got a couple of EliteDesk HP 800 G4 SFF, i5-8100 with 16GB RAM and 512Gb SSD, but sadly only with Intel graphics. I'm looking to buy a couple of video cards, but the only ones that are Low Profile (to fit the PC!) are GTX 730 and similar, 2GB RAM, with VGA output. I've also found several GT 1030 cards, but only with HDMI and DVI outputs (some with Displayport instead of HDMI!).
So, I wonder what HDMI to VGA adapters do you recommend, because of the EDID passthrough.... I've found DP2VGA2 adapters (Startech) in Chile, and a lot of HDMI to VGA adapters but none with EDID passthrough (at least in paper!).
Or, if the way to go is to modify an adapter, how can I do that? what adapter would work, and what is the modification that needs to be done?

thanks!!
Francisco.

hi @Aganyte !!! sent you a PM regarding a couple of PWM2M2 that I need to revive my Daytona USA twin :)
thanks!

Thanks @Tibal for the input.

I've checked the twins, and one of them is missing part of the connectors (some tech guy routed a lot of the cables directly to the boards inside the cage below the seat: the middleboard that looks like your M2 Mega Adapter is missing). The other one (the other twin cab) seems to be intact.

In any case, I think is best for future maintenance to replace all the boards, and put a PC inside so my childs can play whatever available game they want. Even the CRT's (sad, but sometimes they fail and it's difficult to fix them today) are going to be replaced with LCDs.
But I need to keep the wheel/pedals/shifter :)

So I'm going with option one: PWM2M2 and Arduino Mega (as already have a couple of them laying on my toolbox). I think I will have to route new cables (from the pots at the wheel/pedals, buttons, lights, etc) to the Arduino/PWM2M2 and call it a day. The original cables are not in good condition, so it would be wise to change them with the boards. It will be a lot of work, but nothing that can't be done in a weekend :)

Thanks a lot for your help!!!

Hi @Tibal !
I have a couple of Daytona USA twin cabs, and I'm going to convert them to universal racecabs.
Njz3 told me that I need to put the Sega Rally 1 EEPROM on them, so I can use the BackForceFeeder.
Is there any advantage on using a MultiFFB instead of a single EEPROM on this case? (I'm going to use the cab with PC's only, I'll remove all the original SEGA boards)

thanks!

thanks @njz3 for the quick response!!!
where can I get the sega rally 1 eprom??
If there any advantage on using a PWM2M2 over the original driveboard? Maybe I should just do the jump just one time and change everything at once...
my Daytonas had a lot of timeplay on their shoulders, so I don't know how much time these driveboards will last :)
My idea is to have them working for another 20+ years!

Hi all!! I'm new here in this forum, but a very very long time arcade user :)
I've got a couple of Daytona USA twin arcade machines, and I would like to convert them to universal racecabs. They are somewhat working (some issues with the nanao CRT monitors), but my childs don't like to play Daytona only.
I have some experience with Arduinos, and when I found that @njz3 have already developed code to make a PC connection, I knew that I must convert the cabs ASAP :)

So, I already have a couple of Arduino MEGA and ULN2003. What else do I need to convert the Daytona's to PC's?

Do I need a PWM2M2 to make it work? If needed, where can I buy a couple boards?

if my original driverboard is working, can I connect it directly to the Arduino??? (of course, taking into account the different voltages on the boards/motors, with a proper power supply)

regards!
Francisco.
